Our Mission

At The Acorn Centre, we are dedicated to fostering a sense of community through hospitality and events. As a social enterprise owned by Inverurie West Parish Church, our goal is to provide a welcoming space for all. Our services are managed by a dedicated team of congregation members, supported by a small group of paid staff and a committed volunteer team.

Our Story

In 2000, the Church of Scotland introduced the "Church Without Walls" initiative, encouraging congregations to engage more deeply with their communities. Inverurie West Parish Church responded by establishing The Acorn Centre. By transforming our building, we created a versatile space that includes a hospitality area, the UBUNTU Fairtrade shop, a gallery, and meeting rooms. The Sanctuary was also upgraded with modern amenities, such as lift access, multimedia capabilities, and an induction loop system, making it ideal for larger gatherings and events.

What We Offer

At The Acorn Centre, we provide a variety of services and spaces designed to bring people together and enrich our community. Our offerings include:

  • UBUNTU Fairtrade Shop: Shop for a variety of Fairtrade products, supporting ethical trade practices.

Community Impact

All proceeds from The Acorn Centre are reinvested into the church to support a variety of local and international projects. Through our Small Grants Scheme, we have donated over £28,000 to local clubs, support groups, and youth organizations in the Garioch area, demonstrating our commitment to the community.
